I was just invited to join a campaign I started years ago, where reports I prepared 3 years ago have been resurrected and are being circulated.

With everything else going on in the world, it seems so LOW priority for me now, but how ironic that the issues are much more glaring and problematic for those who are left to deal with them, but because at the time they didn't affect them, were not very engaged.

I think I spend most of my life telling people, this may not affect you now, but it will.

@AnnieBuddy I may have burned some political capital a few times in my working years by going “I told ya so, but you didn’t listen” after some events that caused a mad scramble. Worth it.

I used to just sit back and think to myself, "finally", because I was taught being smug was not socially acceptable. In hindsight, I wish had been more smug. Maybe it would have changed some people's thinking - that they should maybe listen to others instead of plodding through life in their own slow to anticipate anything way.

These are highly educated people.

By the time they figure it out though, it is usually too late and my sympathy well is dry.

@AnnieBuddy In the end I landed at a job where the CEO would pop by for a random chat and ask me how things were going down in the coal mine and if there was anything he should be aware of. He knew that I didn't sugar coat things, and I knew that he had a lot of high level things on the go that I wasn't aware of but I also really appreciated his drive by checks of the canary. That was a fairly good place to end my working days at.

I'm glad for you. it makes a world of difference when you know you are being heard and not only are you being considered, but sought out.
