I see today the AG is looking for contractors to assess Microsoft's CoPilot to determine whether its genAI features are safe and ready to roll out across the federal government.

Elbows up, right? Everybody knows protecting our sovereignty starts with eliminating skilled public servants and shoveling money at a US broligarch plagiarism machine.

@phasorburn Even long before AI came along I have been worried about the loss of organizational knowledge in the public service.

I started noticing it in the early 2000s - the government's shift to 'focusing on core competencies' without really diving into which competencies had value. In particular, the reduction of their IT staff which maintained their custom software systems had the massive unintended side effect of culling deep understanding of policy.

I swear it's difficult to find anybody who knows how anything even works there anymore. They just hire SAP or whoever to come in and figure it out.
