I’m not surprised, there’s plenty of inherent risks involved there, BUT … more interesting would be questions like:
- how do risks and injury rates change with experience?
- with training?
- how do they compare to other modes of transportation
at similar levels of experience / training?
- are the risks inherent to the scooter or from infrastructure that is ill-suited to them?

For example: I have a few young drivers in my household… their inexperience is incredibly risky. If I airdropped 6
non-driving CR reporters into a bunch of cars to assess them on the roads and highways, how many injuries might I expect?

@DavidM_yeg @Son_of_a_George I saw a lady just today walking one of the rental scooters across a road and then getting on and wobbly riding away on the multi-use pathway. "Old lady clothing" only, no helmet or pads. Appeared to be late 70s early 80s. I sure hope she's up to date with her calcium supplements.
