The McKenzie Brothers are an obvious progenitor to the Trailer Park Boys and despite not being quite as edgy, are way better than TBB on so many levels. Perhaps it’s just distant memory of them and SCTV in general that’s making me all misty eyed over my beer right now.
Nothing wrong with the TPB of course, just that I find them a wee bit too far on the simple, predictable, criminally uncivilized end of the scale as compared to the highbrow-discguised-as-lowbrown humour from the distinguished and honerable McKenzie Brothers.
Update: I managed to snag the recording in HD via StarChoice CBC HD at about 7pm. Just did a spot check on the content, and yes all the new material (interviews with everyone associated with or influenced by them) is in glorious HD
Save it!
Archive it!
We missed it over here. We’ll be over sometime soon to catch it.
Even though it IS CBC so you can be sure they’ll replay it fourteen times over the next three months..

Your wish is my command. It shall be marked as ‘do not delete’ in the PVR. Actually, I think it already is.
Haven’t seen it yet.
Perhaps you want to bring the popcorn?
I have some dodgy homebrew available.

So when are you slackers going to come watch this thing? It’s still here, unviewed, on the PVR.
No, I can’t export it unless you want it in SD on vhs. ( It is recorded in HD on a drm locked pvr from starchoice aka shaw )
