					<description>Possibly, but I think more what's going on is that IE6's *.dll's were jammed into a .cab file somewhere on the system and a post-hook in the IE7 uninstall unpacks them back to their original location.

Or at least that's the way I would do it.  Which means MSFT did something really daft with them and they are indeed 'live' somehow in the guts of the system still even when IE7 has been installed.</description>
