You can make your Ebay product shots look a bit better than the majority of the competition by using a curved white background material that you shoot against. You can either spend around $100 on the Sharpics ‘D-Flector’
Or you can go spend a dollar per 12 x 18″ sheet of white foam project sheet at Walmart and get passable results like this for very little effort and next to zero cash outlay.

I shot this on the dining room table with the foam sheets propped up against a pushed-in-chair, to give that infinity-curve effect. I probably had my whitebalance set wrong and could very well get even better results with a bit of work.
1% the cost for 90% as good results, imho.
Close enough for hand grenades and short lived EBay auctions where you just want to get rid of your crap for some $ and need a quick leg up on the riff raff who photo their crap on the kitchen counter with dirty coffee mugs edging into the frame etc.
If you REALLY need the pure white background, by all means go get the D-Flector or something similar. They appear to use something like the material used for movie screens.
The el-cheapo method worked well enough for us to get rid of some misc electronic detrius in exchange for approx $350 in our pockets.
