The 2009 World Skills event in Calgary had a virtual component. If you search for ’skillsisland’ in second life you can find a poorly rendered Calgary Stampede Grounds with off-scale little tents with teleport icons that took you to things like the above (rooms somewhere representing the insides of the tents).
Too bad I hadn’t thought of dusting off the secondlife client and my koolaid-man avatar while the event was underway (or perhaps my flaming chicken avatar).
Then again, maybe it was just as deserted then as it is now.
