$20 Rebate Offer

Learn how to take advantage of this limited time offer with the purchase of VMware Fusion. The rebate offer ends on December 31, 2007 and is only available to US customers.

Jerkwads.

Nevermind that I can’t seem to find a Canadian online retailer to buy this from (I prefer to spend local when possible, if the price is close enough).

iPhone available in Canada. Sort of.

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

Check these idiots out. They are selling a hacked grey market Apple iPhone in Canada. They are even advertising on the local radio stations (I heard their advertisement on CJAY 92 this morning).

Until you dig into their site and take a close look at the FAQ section, it all seems above board. Even then, the mention of “special software” and needing to stay at firmware version 1.02 (now obsolete) doesn’t explicitly spell out that these are grey market. You have to read between the lines.

$985 CDN is an outrage also. Given that our dollar is trading above the yankee dollar for the first time in decades, the pricing should be more closely aligned with the US pricing, if this were a legit deal.

Stay away, wait until Rogers and Apple work out their differences.

Rumours have it that the delay is two fold. Rogers wants to disfigure the iPhone will all sorts of tripe branding, physical badges and splash screens etc. The other rumour involves the bend-you-over data rates that Rogers (and nearly every other Canadian cellular provider) charges.

How do they do it?

I can think of better uses for time travel than mere package delivery . . .
