The City of Calgary has released a preliminary map showing how next year’s Market Value Assessments will affect homeowner taxes.
We’ve included a copy here, so you can see how your neighbourhood will be affected.
Individual home assessments will vary, but the city wants to stop the misconception that high market value increases will mean high tax bills.

Our house is in the 42% area on the left. If the city doesn’t want more $ out of their property tax assessments this year (ha, fat chance of that), our property tax should go down about 1 percent.

WTF? Were we over assessed last year?

I haven’t had my morning coffee yet. I’m sure it’ll make more sense after ingesting caffeine.

As my wife already blogged about earlier, the local economy is too damn hot.
